A Couch Potato Travels America Through Movie Scenes
Reliving Hollywood Scenes
Almost everyone travels America. How, you ask? The movies…
To experience real American travel, movies that were shot in the United States are among the best travel guides you can have. The shooting scenes shown in the movies will give you ideas on what to expect before your visit. Just imagine the thrill of seeing the landmarks and sights featured in your favorite Hollywood movies–up close and personal! Do you know that most of these landscapes in various parts of America have been turned into popular tourist destinations?
The huge selection of movies shot over the past decades provides a great introduction to rich American history and its beautiful landmarks. If you are a movie buff, these films will be the best “travel planner” you can ask for. So what is the best place to start your exploration? If I would have to guess, it is none other than Hollywood Studios, located in the great state of California!
Your trip to the make-believe world of Hollywood should be complemented by a visit to the fantasy-world of Disneyland in Anaheim, California.
At the Travel Junction
There are 50 states in America. If time and money are not constraints, your visit to each state will surely give you a memorable travel experience. I know that not many of us could enjoy this luxury. So, my suggestion is, if you start from California, you should head east and end your journey in Florida. This should give you the best bang for your budget.
America’s National Parks
After your visit to California, your next stop should be the Grand Canyon National Park. Held Up, the movie starring Jamie Foxx and Nia Long, was shot there. The park is situated in northern Arizona. When you visit the Grand Canyon, make sure you visit The Skywalk too. It is located 240 miles from the Grand Canyon Village.
If you are looking for the outdoor experience, there are many notable landscapes that you should visit. The list includes Montana’s Glacier National Park, Nevada’s Pyramid Lake, California’s Lake Tahoe, Utah’s Zion National Park, New Mexico’s Chama River Valley, and Texas’s Alamo Village…
The New York Experience
There are plenty of great movies that were shot in New York. From The Godfather, starring Al Pacino, Taxi Driver, starring Robert De Niro, and to my favorite Superman series, starring Christopher Reeves.
In New York, venture into the Museum Mile and discover New York’s top museums one of which is the Guggenheim. Stroll down mid-town Fifth Avenue, and visit the iconic Empire State Building. There are just so many tourist attractions that you can explore along the way. If you want to admire the city from a different angle, why not try out the Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises? It offers a comfortable cruise-ride into the Hudson River.
Relive “CSI Miami”
Heading south east from New York will lead you to Florida. Here, Miami, a colorful vibrant city, is “the place” to be. There are many destinations for one to discover in Florida. Try out South Beach, a popular shopping and partying haven, then, take a trip to Miami Metrozoo. The Metrozoo is fast becoming the best zoo in America due to its climate that is conducive for keeping animals from Australia, Africa, and Asia. Seaquarium, Everglades National Park, at 1.5 million acres of swamps, and Vizcaya estate are other popular destinations.
Should anyone travels America to relive the movie experience, it is going to be a different kind of enjoyment; and definitely a memorable one too.
